Sie zitieren Witold Chrab, einen in Washington DC ansässigen Ingenieur, der 2011 mit einem Motorrad über den Pass fuhr: "Jede Saison nutzen die Straßenmannschaften GPS, um die Straße zu finden und sie erneut freizulegen". Ein 8 km langer Tunnel wird unter dem Pass gebaut, um eine sicherere Option zu bieten, aber die ursprüngliche Route, die die Täler Kulu, Lahual und Spiti im nördlichsten Indien verbindet, lockt Besucher mit Ausblicken auf zerklüftete Gebirgszüge, weitläufige Täler und sogar eine Bergziege oder zwei.
