Die Stadt Luxemburg ist die Hauptstadt des Großherzogtums Luxemburg. Mit 119.215 Einwohnern ist sie die größte Stadt des Landes; knapp 20 Prozent der Gesamtbevölkerung Luxemburgs leben in der Hauptstadt. Luxemburg ist Verwaltungssitz des gleichnamigen Kantons und war es auch für den gleichnamigen Distrikt bis zu seiner Abschaffung am 3. Oktober 2015. Luxemburger nennen ihre Hauptstadt meist nur D’Stad .
Die Stadt Luxemburg ist neben Brüssel und Straßburg Verwaltungssitz der Europäischen Union mit Sitz und Tagungsort zahlreicher europäischer Institutionen. Daneben ist Luxemburg ein wichtiger Finanzplatz.
