Fnideq ist eine Stadt mit 77.436 Einwohnern im Norden Marokkos, an der Mediterranen Küste am Rif-Gebirge. Fnideq ist Sitz einer Präfektur in der Region Tanger-Tétouan. Die Stadt liegt etwa 30 Kilometer nördlich der Großstadt Tetouan und wenige Kilometer südlich der spanischen Provinz Ceuta . Unter anderem ist die Stadt bei den Einwohnern unter dem Namen Castillejos bekannt.
Marokko wurde 1912 als Protektorat unter die Kolonialmächte Frankreich und Spanien aufgeteilt. Dabei wurde Fnideq Teil von Spanisch-Marokko. Nach dem Ende des Rifkriegs wurde eine spanische Verwaltung eingerichtet. Diese endete, als im Jahr 1956 Marokko die volle Souveränität zurückerlangte, Nur noch die im Norden benachbarte Stadt Ceuta gehört als Exklave zu Spanien. Viele Sehenswürdigkeiten zeigen spanische Architektur.
