Nationalpark De Weerribben (2004 zum schönsten Ort der Niederlande ernannt) ist ein Eldorado für Wassersportler. Aber auch Radfahrer und Wanderer kommen dort auf ihre Kosten. Es ist eine alte Moorlandschaft, die – als der Torf abgebaut wurde – sich in ein einzigartiges Naturgebiet verwandelte. Nationalpark De Weerribben gehört zu den schönsten "Wetlands" (Feuchtgebieten) Europas. Die Flora und Fauna sind von ungeahnter Vielfalt.
