On the Chaussée de Uccle 63 we find the inn 'In De Grote Pot', with a shop next to it where flour and yeast were sold, so that people at the time baked their own bread at home and next to it a cheese factory. Later, the first petrol station in Beersel was built here.
In the winter of 1962, owner Henri Matton converted his barn into a warehouse for lambic and started a beer business.
His wort is obtained through the Van Haelen brothers, Van Haelen Coche and August Winderickx.
Henri's gueuze was well appreciated and soon he was supplying all the Beersel inns.
Business is going so well that they invest in a first truck, which is soon enough replaced by a larger truck, specially designed for transporting geuze barges.
By that time, Henri's blendery will be equipped with two foeders, each with a capacity of 3000 bottles. But Henri' has too many gueuze (or too few bottles), so he has 100,000 gueuze bottles blown.
Henri and his wife got along well with the Aerts family and thanks to them, the blendery was expanded as an official distribution point of the Speciale Aerts for a part of Brussels and all municipalities in the Flemish Periphery. A machine was also purchased to clean, fill and cork the bottles.
Business was good until Henri became very ill and died shortly afterwards, in 1944. The blendery was continued, but was shut down two years later.
The inn continued to exist and was later expanded with a campsite.
