Ivars Drulle - Beaufort 2012
You can walk around it and touch it. You can listen and observe. The Latvian Ivars Drulle expects the audience to interact with his objects. With I Can Hear It, he gives the viewer the chance to step out of the everyday hustle and fully become one with the natural power of the sea. Two enormous horns, resembling those of old gramophones, are pointed towards the sea. At the back, you will find a bronze lady on a bench who is listening with her ear to one of the horns. There is one spot available on the bench next to her. Feel free to sit next to her and listen to the wind on the beach, the passing seagulls, and the sound of the waves at the second horn.
