In Berendrecht and Zandvliet, there are still numerous, sometimes hidden, slow paths.
Slow paths are connections between roads and village sections that are mainly intended for cyclists, pedestrians, and horse riders. Sometimes they have only been recently created, but they can also have been used for hundreds of years. The main functions are: recreation, safe mobility, nature experience, and heritage. These functions can be jeopardized by neglect or excessive modernization.
The varied route of this walk is mostly car-free and leads through forests, heathland, polders, and the village. The walk can also be shortened, as it passes near the starting point after 6 km.
