The "Thick Man of Pamel" walking route honors the most famous resident of Roosdaal (Pamel): "The Thick Man of Pamel" (or locally simply referred to as "the Thick One"). He lived in the 19th century under the name "Victor De Klercq". The walk begins at the Sint-Gaugericus Church (Brusselstraat) in Pamel. Along the way, you will pass by bunkers from World War II, the farm "De Kam", and via the Dender-Jagpfad you will reach the monument of the "Thick Man of Pamel". The walking route also goes through the nature reserve "Torfgrube". The path is signposted and offers alternative/shortened options in two places. You can find these here .
