Description by the author

This is a shortened version of my original route "TheSevenSummits". In a group that is too diverse, the fastest cover the entire distance, while the others take the medium version. The start, the two large, gently curved connecting sections (back and forth) between Trois-Ponts and La Roche, and the final kilometers can be completed together. This allows everyone to find their taste. The first split occurs in Jalhay after about 12 km. While the original route goes around the Lac de la Gileppe, the medium version goes straight to the summit of Baraque Michel. This means a gain of 10 km and 165 meters of elevation. A regrouping is best done at the summit of "Les Hézalles", from where there is a gentle path together towards La Roche. The faster group has the "Ferme Libert", "Stockeu", and "Les Hézalles" to make up for it. The second split occurs just before La Roche after about 125 km. While the original route heads for Pied Monti, the medium version goes straight towards La Roche and climbs the Haussire only once (instead of twice on the original route), preferably from the south side, but anyone who wants to choose the southwest side: feel free. Since this means a gain of 15 km and 400 meters of elevation, this group certainly has time to recover in La Roche before tackling the Haussire, aiming to eventually regroup at the summit of Côte de Dochamps Ouest. From there, they will go together over a gentle path towards Trois-Ponts. After Trois-Ponts, after about 170 km, the original route climbs the difficult Thier de Coo, before tackling the Haute Levée in Stavelot. The medium version takes a slightly shorter route from Trois-Ponts to Stavelot via the lovely RAVel. This old railway bed is gently ascending, meaning the medium version can save only 2 km, but at the same time 140 meters of elevation! Ultimately, one can regroup at the foot of the last climb of the day, the Rosier Est, to give it their all once more. Overall, the medium version of TheSevenSummits is 26 km shorter with 710 meters less elevation.
