The Evangelical Kindergarten Eberswalde was founded in 1832 as the second kindergarten in Brandenburg and is today the oldest still existing kindergarten in the state of Brandenburg. The sponsor of the kindergarten is the Protestant parish of Eberswalde, it is located at Pfeilstraße 27 in the city center of Eberswalde.
In February 1832, the preacher and rector of the then city school of Ernst Daniel Martin Kichner established the first infant school in the Mark Brandenburg in Hinterstraße, now Kirchstraße, in Neustadt Eberswalde.
