The Tönning Castle was built between 1580 and 1583 under Duke Adolf of Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorf in the town of Tönning in Schleswig-Holstein. The castle, which was torn down again in 1735 by Danish King Friedrich V, was the most elaborate castle construction on the Schleswig-Holstein west coast. The former castle grounds, along with the garden, are still visible in the townscape of Tönning today.
