The Floßbach is a flowing watercourse approximately 1.5 km long in Rhineland-Palatinate and a left tributary of the Speyerbach, from which it draws most of its water and into which it flows back. It runs entirely through the urban area of Neustadt an der Weinstraße.
The Floßbach does not originate from a spring, but branches off to the left from the Speyerbach at a height of 137 m on the western edge of the city center in Neustadt an der Weinstraße. The branching was designed in such a way, as indicated by the names of the nearby Klausenbrücke and the Klausengasse that crosses it, that one could dam the Speyerbach in a small bay for timber rafting if needed. Two weirs allowed for the backwater to fill the bridged bay; by opening one or the other weir, the rafting could be directed straight into the Speyerbach or to the left into the Floßbach.
