The current castle was established in the Jülich era in 1740, as the residence and administrative seat of the lord of Jülich. Enjoy a beautiful view here. The castle complex, consisting of the Bergfried (watchtower of the older castle) recognizable in the background and the (newer) castle standing in the foreground, is the main part of Wassenberg.
