The s'Arnella lighthouse does not correspond, like most of the lighthouses on this coastline, to the reign of Isabel II. It was designed as part of the lighting reform plan for coasts and ports in 1904. It was built through an initiative from 1891 brought forward by the Society for the Rescue of Shipwrecked Persons of Girona. It was inaugurated on the night of December 16, 1913. After several renovations, this lighthouse emits a white light signal - at 22 m above sea level - with flashes of 1.5 seconds. Its architectural structure, consisting of a house and a square tower with a dome, served as a model for other lighthouses built at the beginning of the 20th century, in a second program for improving the system of lighthouses along the Spanish coast. The original building inspired the future construction of the Tossa lighthouse, which was built two years later. For a time, on the west side, where the entrance was, the new residence of the lighthouse keeper was attached. On the east side facing the sea, there is a viewpoint.
