The abbey is located in the heart of the Saint-Gobain forest. The former mother abbey was founded by Saint-Norbert de Xanten in 1120, and the current buildings in the main courtyard were rebuilt in the early 18th century. Now a public mental health facility, part of the abbey is open to visitors: gardens, chapel and monumental staircase (for tours, contact the Coeur de Picard Tourist Office).
