The Laarder Wasmeer or Groot Waschmeer is a small lake between Anna's Hoeve, the Zuiderheide and the A27 South of Laren east of Hilversum. The terrain around the Wasmeer is not freely accessible and is managed by the Goois Natuurreservaat. In Roman times and the late Middle Ages already existed a large Groot Wasmeer. The soil in the area barely allowed water to pass through, so that several fens were created. Around 1800 it was a sloping area with small fens in which the sheep were washed.
