St. Mary's Church is a church in the Dutch municipality of Breda. The church is located on St. Mary's Square.
St. Mary's Parish was founded in February 1933. The parish priest was Joseph Baeten, later the sixth bishop of Breda. St. Mary's Church was designed by architect Jacques Hurks in an expressionist style related to the Amsterdam School. The church was consecrated on May 31, 1934. At that time, the building still stood in the middle of the fields; This is why the church is nicknamed the Brussels Sprout Church.
Until 1942 the parish was part of the municipality of Ginneken and Bavel. On May 31, 2009, it was 75 years ago that St. Mary's Church was consecrated. This was celebrated in May with various activities. On the occasion of the anniversary, a booklet was made about the history of the church.
Since 2000, the church has been part of the then established Jerusalem parish.
