The Maasheggen Vortum Mullem

Round tour through the Maasheggen area between Vortum Mullem and Vierlingsbeek. A beautiful hike for nature lovers, but certainly also for bird watchers. The hike starts at the edge of the forest at the Veerweg in Vortum Mullem. There are plenty of parking options here. The hike leads through beautiful forest paths where many (singing) birds live, through the Maasheggen area. Later, you will reach the ferry and the hike continues along the Maas river. The route takes you back through the Maasheggen, along the Maas, and through forest paths and fields back to the starting point. At various points, benches with beautiful views over the Maas and the fields are set up.

A very bird-rich area with many different species such as the siskin, fieldfare, finches, yellowhammer, and many species of geese and ducks. Additionally, you can also see the sparrowhawk, buzzard, and kestrel in this area.
