La ciudad tiene la muralla mejor conservada de Bélgica; esta fue construida en el siglo XIII y pertenece a la segunda murallas de la ciudad.
Binche es especialmente conocida por su antiguo carnaval. En particular, los Gilles con sus trajes tradicionales son mundialmente famosos. Durante mucho tiempo se pensó que el carnaval se organizó por primera vez en 1549 por María de Hungría en honor a la visita de su hermano Carlos V y su hijo Felipe II, pero esta teoría ya no es viable, ya que hay referencias a un carnaval en Binche desde 1395.
En 2003, la UNESCO incluyó el carnaval de Binche en la Lista de Obras Maestras del Patrimonio Oral e Inmaterial de la Humanidad.
También el campanario del siglo XIV-XVI está en la lista de campanarios reconocidos como patrimonio mundial por la UNESCO.
