El actual faro de Blankenberge, apodado el muelle Comte Jean , fue construido entre 1950 y 1954 en la ciudad portuaria belga.
Hasta 2009, el edificio debajo de la torre albergaba un museo marítimo .
Ya en 1337 se menciona un faro en Blankenberge . El faro anterior fue construido entre 1870 y 1872 y fue volado por las fuerzas de ocupación alemanas en 1944. Antes de eso, hubo un faro de 1817 a 1873 en Fort Napoleón, que desde entonces ha sido demolido.
