La ruta tiene un perfil moderado, pero con casi 17 kilómetros de longitud se clasifica como de dificultad media, aunque no requiere habilidades especiales. Además, tras una corta pero intensa subida desde Sebnitz, discurre relativamente plana a través de Lichtenhain y cruza el Panoramaweg, que ofrece una vista interesante sobre casi toda la Suiza Sajona y Checa, y en un día despejado incluso hasta el Alto Schneeberg.
Continuando hacia Kinitzschtal, se pasa por la llamada Großstein - una impresionante vista del Kirnitzschtal hasta la Suiza Sajona.
Luego, se avanza desde Kinitzschtal hacia el Parque Nacional Suiza Sajona - concretamente hacia el Pequeño Zschand - hasta el famoso Kuhstall, que vale la pena descubrir y explorar.
Desde el Kuhstall, se regresa a Kinitzschtal hacia la cascada de Lichtenhain, donde la ruta culmina debidamente.
