La Basílica de la Mare de Déu de la Mercè tiene una gran cúpula sobre el crucero, obra de Joan Martorell, así como la capilla del Santísimo en el lado del Evangelio y un camarín para el culto de la Virgen. La cúpula se coronó con una imagen de Nuestra Señora de la Merced, obra de Maximí Sala, derruida en 1936 y reconstruida en 1956 por los hermanos Llucià y Miquel Oslé.
