Soba es un valle y municipio de la comunidad autónoma de Cantabria , que tiene los siguientes límites: al norte, Ramales de la Victoria, Arredondo y valle de Ruesga. Al sur, la Merindad de Montija y Espinosa de los Monteros, todos en la provincia de Burgos. Al este, Lanestosa y Carranza, en la provincia de Vizcaya y al oeste, San Roque de Riomiera. Siendo el tercer mayor municipio en extensión de Cantabria, ocupa una extensión de 214,16 km² que alberga importantes bosques de hayas, robles y encinas.
