Montagut y Oix[cita requerida] es un municipio español situado en la provincia de Gerona, Cataluña, situado en la comarca de La Garrocha. Antiguamente era llamado Montagut de Fluviá.
Desde 1972 incluye el antiguo término municipal de Oix, pasando a denominarse el municipio Montagut y Oix a partir del 15 de noviembre de 2002.[1] Eso significa que desde esa fecha el municipio de Montagut y Oix está formado por dos pueblos, el de Montagut, en la parte baja de la Garrocha y el pueblo de Oix en la Alta Garrocha. La distancia entre los dos pueblos es de unos 15 km. El municipio tiene otros núcleos de población diseminados o barrios.
