El palacio de San Telmo es la sede de la Presidencia de la Junta de Andalucía. Se trata de un edificio barroco ubicado en Sevilla y construido entre los siglos XVII y XVIII para ser la sede de un colegio de marineros.[1]
A comienzos del siglo XVII la Universidad de Mareantes estaba establecida en unas casas del barrio de Triana. En 1607 comenzaron a realizarse gestiones para construir un colegio-seminario para enseñar a los niños huérfanos a ser pilotos y emplearlos así en los barcos que iban a las Indias. Este proyecto no se concretó hasta la Real Cédula de Carlos II del 17 de junio de 1681.[2]
