La tercera etapa del Camino del Cid (65 km). La etapa de Covarrubias a Peñaranda de Duero forma parte de la ruta El Destierro, la parte más septentrional del Camino del Cid de 360 km que discurre desde Vivar del Cid hasta Atienza.
En la primera parte tienes que subir mucho por encima de los 1100m. Las carreteras son muy tranquilas, los primeros quince minutos no me encontré con un coche y sólo escuché pájaros.
En el camino algunos lugares interesantes: Santo Domingo de Silos y Caleruega. Además, los restos de la ciudad romana de Clunia.
