Cruzando de Cáceres a Salamanca, por las faldas de la sierra de Béjar
Este tramo del Camino Natural Vía de la Plata se vale del trazado del antiguo ferrocarril Astorga-Plasencia, que discurre a media ladera por las faldas del límite occidental de la sierra de Béjar, declarada, en conjunto con la vecina sierra de Francia, Reserva de la Biosfera en 2006. La Ruta Vía de la Plata, itinerario turístico-cultural basado en la calzada romana entre Augusta Emerita (Mérida) y Asturica Augusta (Astorga) que da nombre al camino, transcurre en paralelo al camino natural durante gran parte del recorrido.
