En el trayecto de La Coronada, y antes del desvío, existe la posibilidad de tomar una alternativa al trazado señalizado que acorta el recorrido, ya que se vuelve a encontrar más adelante en el Camino que se va acercando al canal y al río. Quizás el atractivo de la variante es mayor en primavera porque este trazado alternativo bordea una charca, sin agua en verano.
