Le Dorat es una población y comuna francesa, situada en la región de Lemosín, departamento de Alto Vienne, en el distrito de Bellac y cantón de Le Dorat. El gentilicio francés es dorachon.
La ciudad fue fundada como Scotorum en el año 950, donde un grupo de misioneros construyeron una iglesia dedicada a San Miguel. Veinte años después Boson El Viejo construyó una capilla. El conjunto, que llegó a ser colegial, se incendió y fue reconstruido en el 1060, y fue ampliándose hasta el siglo XIII. En el siglo XI se construyó el castillo de Le Dorat sobre una colina que domina la población, desaparecido durante las Guerras de Religión. Sobre las ruinas existe actualmente un jardín de propiedad pública.
