El asedio de Avignón de 1226 es una operación militar del rey Luis VIII de Francia durante la cruzada albigense en 1226, que finalizó con la rendición de la ciudad. La muerte de Simón de Montfort en el asedio de Tolosa de 1218 fue un golpe duro para los cruzados. Las antiguas posesiones del conde de Tolosa se habían rebelado, y las fortalezas y ciudades fueron recuperadas poco a poco por los barones del sur. Lo único que detuvo esta reconquista fue la intervención del príncipe Luis de Francia, que había tomado Marmanda pero se detuvo en Tolosa. Luego marchó hacia el norte, dejando solo a Amaurí de Montfort, hijo de Simón, y con poca tropa para continuar.
