Situada en el centro de la ciudad, entre el centro histórico y el centro moderno, la Piazza De Ferrari es conocida por su fuente, que fue restaurada en los años recientes junto con una importante remodelación de la plaza.
Junto a la Piazza De Ferrari hay muchos edificios de oficinas, y sedes de bancos, aseguradoras y otras empresas, haciendo a esta zona el centro financiero de Génova, por lo que los genoveses se refieren popularmente a ella como la "City" de Génova.
