Breugel es una aldea en el municipio de Son y Breugel. Breugel se encuentra en el lado este del Dommel. Al sur de Breugel se encuentra el canal Wilhelminakanaal y el arroyo Breugelse Beek fluye, también al sur de Breugel, hacia el Dommel. Al norte de Breugel se ha construido un nuevo barrio.
Breugel perteneció hasta el siglo XIII al Alodio de Rode, que estaba bajo la influencia del condado de Gelre. A través de un matrimonio con un conde, esta área pasó en 1229 al duque de Brabante. Desde entonces, ha pertenecido al cuarto de Peelland.
