Westerflier es una mansión o havezate rodeada por un parque y un dominio, que se encuentra al suroeste de Diepenheim y fue habitada por familias nobles. Se requería poseer un havezate para ser admitido en la caballería. Originalmente, desde aquí se gestionaba un alodio. El área por la que se nombró la casa se menciona como Westerfle por primera vez en 1046. Westerflier ha sido habitada durante siglos por la familia Van Hövell, que fue el origen de la familia noble Van Hövell hasta Westerflier. Se desconoce cómo lucía la casa en aquel entonces.
