Maasvlakte 2 es el nombre del proyecto de expansión del puerto de Róterdam que se encuentra al oeste de la Maasvlakte. Con esta nueva área construida en el mar, que tiene un tamaño de 2.000 hectáreas, el puerto se hizo un 20% más grande. Una vez completada la expansión, los puertos de Róterdam abarcan en total 12.000 hectáreas. El 1 de septiembre de 2008, después de años de planificación, discusiones y protestas, comenzó la construcción. El 22 de mayo de 2013, la Segunda Maasvlakte fue oficialmente inaugurada.
