La Capilla de María en Gilze (municipio de Gilze y Rijen) consiste en un muro de ladrillo con un tejado a dos aguas. En la hornacina se ha colocado una imagen de piedra natural de María con niño.
La historia
La Capilla de María en Gilze (municipio de Gilze y Rijen) fue fundada por los residentes de la casa de cuidados Sint-Franciscus en agradecimiento por haber sido salvados durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial.
En Gilze, durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, hubo muchas víctimas y se destruyeron edificios. Gilze estaba en la ruta de aproximación al aeropuerto de Gilze-Rijen, lo que provocó que el pueblo (sin querer) fuera afectado por bombardeos aliados.
Fundación
A pesar de ello, la residencia de ancianos en Kerkstraat fue salvada. Por lo tanto, en su momento se le prometió a María que, después de la guerra, se erigiría una capilla de campo en su honor.
Inauguración
La capilla fue bendecida el 2 de octubre de 1948.
