El Misuri[2] o Missouri es el río más largo de Norteamérica. Fluye por el norte de Estados Unidos en dirección sureste a través de siete estados —Montana, Dakota del Norte, Dakota del Sur, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas y Misuri— hasta desaguar en el río Misisipi, del que es su principal afluente, muy cerca de la ciudad de San Luis. Tiene una longitud de 4090 km, pero si se considera el sistema Misisipi-Misuri, alcanza los 6275 km, lo que lo sitúa como el cuarto más largo del mundo, tras los ríos Amazonas, Nilo y Yangtsé.

Drena una cuenca de 2 980 000 km², la sexta mayor del mundo,[4][1] poco poblada y de clima semiárido que incluye parte de diez estados de los Estados Unidos y de dos provincias canadienses. Las principales ciudades que atraviesa el Misuri son Great Falls, Bismarck, Sioux City, Omaha y Kansas City.
