Histoire La région autour de Kreuzen aurait été défrichée par des Slaves entre les VIIIe et XIe siècles, et le nom Kreuzen est en partie interprété en termes slaves. En 1147, Otto von Machland a fait don de sa paroisse défrichée - Kreuzen - aux chanoines augustins de Waldhausen, qu'il avait fondés. Bad Kreuzen se trouve à 7 km au nord du Danube près de Grein. Environ 29 pour cent de la municipalité est forestière, et 65 pour cent est des terres agricoles.
