Spiss est située dans la vallée de Samnaun et est limitrophe des communes suisses de Samnaun et Valsot dans le canton des Grisons. C’est la commune la plus haute d’Autriche. En termes de population, c’est l’une des plus petites. Les bâtiments éparpillés sont répartis sur plusieurs petits hameaux le long de la Spisser Landesstraße, qui s’étend de Pfunds à Samnaun.
