Le château de Polheim, également connu sous le nom de château de Pollheim, est situé dans la ville de Wels, la deuxième plus grande ville de Haute-Autriche, et remonte à la famille noble des Polheimer. Le château fait partie des monuments les plus importants de la ville de Wels.
Le château de Polheim a été mentionné pour la première fois en 1237, probablement construit par l'influent dirigeant de Wels, Albero de Polheim. Les Polheimer étaient une famille noble originaire de Pollham près de Grieskirchen, qui a acquis un complexe de propriétés significatif à Wels vers 1200. Ce complexe a ensuite été traversé par la construction des murs de la ville.
