Le château de Saalhof est l'un des plus anciens châteaux de la région du Pinzgau. Il date du XIe siècle, lorsqu'il était apparemment la maison des comtes de la région. Lors de la rénovation de la façade en 2010, les parties les plus anciennes du château, du côté nord-est, ont été révélées. En 1600, le château de Saalhof a été agrandi.
