Grâce à la richesse d'un hippodrome et d'un centre équestre, Waregem est connue comme le berceau des sports équestres dans notre pays.
L'hippodrome de Gaverbeek s'étend sur 17 ha et se trouve à deux pas du centre-ville.
Chaque week-end, de début mai à septembre, des courses de trot sont organisées ici.
