Le château est l'attraction la plus emblématique ici dans la ville. Le premier château a été construit au 11ème siècle et au 13ème siècle, il a été renforcé lorsque Durbuy s'est retrouvé au nord du comté de Luxembourg. Au 18ème siècle, le château est tombé entre les mains de la famille noble d’Ursel. Ils l'ont fait rénover en 1731. Le château a acquis son aspect actuel après une restauration en 1880. Le domaine appartient toujours à la famille d’Ursel. Malgré tous ces changements, et les changements dans la ville, l'emplacement du château est resté le même. Un rocher au milieu de la vallée sur lequel se dresse un grand château, associé à l'ambiance que dégage Durbuy, peut encore séduire beaucoup de gens.
