Avec ses longues lames incurvées, évoquant les oyats typiques, la tour Warandetoren se dresse, silhouette élancée et saisissante. De sa base (7 mètres), elle offre une vue imprenable sur les dunes de Warandeduinen, une réserve naturelle d'une grande valeur, abritant une faune et une flore uniques. Grimpez jusqu'au sommet (20 mètres) et, tel un marin perché dans sa hune, contemplez l'horizon : Middelkerke et Westende, les vastes polders, les nombreuses œuvres de Beaufort et, bien sûr, la mer. La structure métallique a été érigée sur les vestiges de l'ancien château d'eau. Si celui-ci a disparu, sa fonction première, elle, perdure. L'eau potable est toujours distribuée depuis ce château d'eau à une grande partie de Middelkerke.
