L'Escaillère est un village de l'Ardenne hennuyère situé à l'extrême sud de la province du Hainaut, en bordure immédiate de la frontière française. Administrativement, il fait aujourd'hui partie de la ville et commune de Chimay, située en Région wallonne dans la province de Hainaut. C'était une commune à part entière avant la fusion des communes de 1977. Sur son territoire se trouve le point culminant du Hainaut à 365 mètres.
