Départ de l'église Saint-Godardus du petit village de Bekkerzeel pour une randonnée exigeante sur de petits chemins de campagne à travers un paysage assez vallonné. Vous passerez devant la chapelle Saint-Petrus-Ascanus, datant de 1891, construite en l'honneur de Pieter Van der Slachmolen, originaire d'Asse, qui, en tant que frère franciscain, fut pendu en 1572 à Den Briel, aux Pays-Bas, par les Gueux de mer. Cet homme a été canonisé en 1867 avec 18 compagnons d’infortune. Le nom d’Ascanus apparaît ici et là à Asse.
