La Baroche est située dans la région de l'Ajoie, à 10 km à l'est du chef-lieu de district : Porrentruy, une petite ville de 6 500 habitants. Les cinq villages de la Baroche sont reliés par CarPostal en direction de Porrentruy cinq à six fois par jour en semaine, par les lignes Porrentruy-Asuel et Porrentruy-Lucelle.
La Baroche est une commune issue de la fusion de cinq villages, elle comprend donc cinq pôles principaux de concentration de la population, qui correspondent aux cinq villages.
