Elmshorn est une ville allemande du land de Schleswig-Holstein, située à 32 km au nord-ouest de Hambourg, au bord de la rivière Krückau rejoignant l'Elbe. Elmshorn est la 6e plus grande ville du Schleswig-Holstein. C'est le lieu de naissance du mathématicien Hermann Weyl.
Elmshorn se compose des quatre quartiers : Kaltenweide, Langelohe/Hainholz, Klostersande/Lieth et Mitte/Flamweg. La rue la plus fréquentée du centre-ville est la Königstraße.
