La colline de 502 mètres de haut est située dans le quartier d’Aschaffenburg. Plus précisément, Steigkoppe se trouve dans la zone non incorporée de Sailaufer Forst entre Laufach et Jakobsthal, qui fait partie de Heigenbrücken.
Le sentier de grande randonnée Eselsweg passe au-dessus de la colline. Il y a aussi une route départementale de Sailauf à Wiesen. Au sud du pic s’élève le Beibuschbach. À l’ouest se trouve la source du Sailaufbach.
