La rivière prend sa source dans le parc de Weissach à Böblingen et coule dans une direction étroite vers le nord-est. Il peut atteindre une profondeur de 100 m dans le paysage de la vallée de Strudelbach. Entre Weissach et Eberdingen, il traverse la frontière avec l’arrondissement de Ludwigsburg. Après 15 km, elle se jette dans la rivière Enz à Enzweihingen. Dans son cours, il traverse les villages de Strudelbachhalle, Weissach, Eberdingen, Riet et Enzweihingen. Il forme une frontière naturelle entre Strohgäu et Heckengäu.
