Le château de Haggn est situé dans la commune de Neukirchen, en Basse-Bavière, dans le district de Straubing-Bogen.
L’ancien château entouré de douves a été mentionné pour la première fois dans un document en 1336. À cette époque, un Johann Heinrich Steinberger est mentionné dans Häcken. Dietrich der Steinberger transmit sa propriété à Wilhelm et Kaspar Zenger. Les enfants de Wilhelm Zenger étaient Andreas et Elisabeth ; Wilhelm acquit également le château de Wildenforst. La fille d’Andreas, Cäcilia, mourut sans enfant et c’est pourquoi les parents les plus proches, Ulrich Waldau et Georg Eschlbeck, se disputèrent l’héritage.
